Home Elevator

A residential lift designed to move people between floors in a house, villa, or apartment.

Residential Elevator

An elevator built specifically for private homes, offering personal mobility without commercial infrastructure.

Stairlift

A motorized chair or platform that travels along a rail installed on a staircase, facilitating upward and downward movement.

Platform Lift

A lift that carries a platform (rather than a cabin) and is used to transport wheelchairs, cargo, or users between floors.

Hydraulic Lift

An elevator driven by hydraulic fluid and a piston mechanism, often known for smooth and quiet operation.

Gearless Cogbelt Drive

A drive system using a non-stretch polyurethane belt reinforced with steel cords eliminates the gearbox, reduces noise, and saves energy.

Machine Room-Less (MRL)

A lift design that doesn't require a separate machine room; the mechanism is built into or near the hoistway.

Minimal Pit Installation

A lift setup that requires minimal pit, simplifying retrofits.

Shaftless Elevator

A home elevator that does not demand a traditional masonry shaft often uses prefabricated metal components.

E300:

The E300 is a cog-belt home elevator imported from Italy, delivering a soft, silent ride with its gearless drive system. With a 400 kg capacity and one-touch call reservation, it combines luxury with high safety.

E200:

The E200 uses trusted hydraulic technology for reliable, smooth vertical movement. It features quiet operation, a one-touch call system, and battery-operated emergency lowering for peace of mind.

E50 Stairlift:

The E50 stairlift is a compact, single-seater mobility solution designed to fit straight, curved, or spiral staircases. It offers joystick control, adjustable seating, and multiple safety features for secure and smooth movement

SUPRA Platform Lift:

The SUPRA platform lift is crafted for both straight and curved staircases, providing an elegant, high-performance way to move between floors. With customizable rails and safety features like obstruction sensors, it’s built for accessibility without compromising aesthetics.

X300 Mark II:

Advanced Swivel & Leveling (ASL)

Technology is used in stairlifts to automatically rotate and level the seat at the landing.

Obstruction Sensor

A safety sensor that detects blockages in the platform or doorway and stops the lift to prevent injury.

Anti-Crush Sensors

Sensors that detect if something is getting pinched or trapped during door closing or movement.

C. Safety & Certification Terms

Emergency Lowering / Auto-Rescue

A safety mechanism (often battery-powered) that brings the cabin to the nearest landing during a power outage.

Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3

A high-level safety certification for all the E-series in Elite, indicating fail-safe reliability in critical systems.

EN 81-41

A European standard for home and accessibility lifts, used by Elite Elevators.

EN 81-40

This certification is applicable for the stairlifts (E50).

ISO 9001:2015

A quality management certification ensuring consistent and high-quality processes.

Elevator Certification

Accreditation or compliance with safety and quality standards (e.g., EN, ISO).

D. Mechanical & Electrical Terms

Travel Height

The total vertical distance from 13100 mm to 21000 mm, an elevator can move between its lowest and highest stops.

Rated Speed

The designed speed from 0.3 to 1.0 m/s at which the elevator cabin travels between floors.

Load Capacity

Maximum weight (440 kg) that an elevator can safely carry.

Emergency Lowering / Auto-Rescue

A safety mechanism (often battery-powered) that brings the cabin to the nearest landing during a power outage.

Landing Call Button

A button on a floor level is used to call the elevator to that landing.

Cabin Buttons

Buttons inside the lift cabin are used to select floors or trigger emergency functions.

Overload Sensor

A sensor that prevents the elevator from operating if the cabin's load exceeds its capacity.

Door Interlock

A safety mechanism that ensures the elevator does not move unless the doors are properly closed.

Soft Start/Soft Stop

Technology for smooth acceleration and deceleration, improving ride comfort.

Emergency Alarm

A button or system inside the cabin to alert help in case of an emergency.

Biometric Access

A security system using fingerprint/face recognition to restrict elevator operation.

GSM / Remote Monitoring

Telemetry or connectivity that allows remote diagnostics, fault alerts, and monitoring.

AI Ride Modes

Intelligent ride profiles (e.g., Eco, Comfort, Sport) controlled by smart algorithms.

Voice Control

Ability to operate the elevator using voice commands (smart-home integration).

Biometric Security

Single-Phase Power Supply

Electrical power supply using a single-phase connection, typical for residential installations.

Battery Backup

Backup power (usually via battery) that supports emergency lowering or operation during power failure.

Glass Cabin

Elevator cabin walls made of glass (or transparent material) for aesthetics and visibility.

Metallic Shaft

A prefabricated shaft made of metal components used in place of a masonry shaft.

Masonry Shaft

A traditional elevator shaft constructed with bricks, concrete or masonry.

Grease-Less Rails

Guide rails that do not require regular greasing, reducing maintenance and noise.

Headroom

The clearance required above the top landing to safely accommodate the elevator's mechanical components.

Civil Work

Building-related construction work (like pit excavation or shaft construction) required before installation.

Retrofit Installation

Installing a lift in an existing building without very deep structural modifications.

Installation Time

The period taken to install a home elevator; Elite claims 2–3 weeks for many models.

Travel Stops

Floors or landings that the elevator is configured to service.

Modular Shaft

Pre-fabricated metallic shaft sections that are assembled on-site.

Cabin Finish

Materials and design of the interior of the elevator cabin (glass, wood, metal, etc.).

Ambient Lighting

Soft, integrated lighting within the cabin to improve aesthetics and user comfort.

Custom Cabin Size

The ability to tailor cabin dimensions to fit the architectural constraints or design preferences.

One-Touch Call Reservation

A feature that remembers a call request and automatically reserves the cabin for that landing.

G. Performance & Comfort Terms

Ramp / Platform Fold Ramp

A foldable ramp on platform lifts to help wheelchair users board and exit.

Safety Gate

A gate (especially on platform lifts) that prevents accidental access to the lift when not at a landing.

Load Platform

The flat surface in a platform lift where a wheelchair or cargo is placed.

Cabin Dimensions

The internal width, depth, and height of the lift cabin.

Silent Ride

Elevator operation designed to be very quiet, ideal for residential environments.

Eco Mode

A power-efficient ride mode that conserves energy.

Sport Mode

RAL Colours

Emergency Telephone / Intercom

Over-Speed Governor

A safety device that activates if the cabin moves faster than its rated speed.

Buffer / Shock Absorber

A component at the bottom of the shaft that cushions the cabin if it descends too far.

Guide Rails

Vertical rails inside the shaft that guide the elevator cabin during travel.

Counterweight

(In traction systems) a weight used to balance the cabin and reduce motor load.

Lubrication-Free Mechanism

Elevator components (like rails or belts) designed to need minimal or no regular lubrication.

Noise Emission Standard

The permissible noise level for lift operation in residential environments.

Elevator Module

A pre-engineered component (shaft section, cabin, control system) that simplifies installation.

I. Customer Support & Service Terms

Maintenance Visit

A scheduled service visit to check all safety systems, mechanics, and electronics.

Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC)

A regular service agreement for preventive maintenance and repairs.

Remote Diagnostic Check

Evaluating the elevator's health through remote monitoring tools without physical visit.

Warranty

The period during which Elite covers defects or failures under certain terms.

User Training

Training provided to homeowners on how to safely and effectively use the elevator.

Civil Contractor

J. Architecture Terms

Cabin Size

The usable cabin space of a home lift. The 1500 mm x 1500 mm cabin space of the Elite Elevators is the largest on the market.

False Ceiling Integration

Adjusting or building false ceilings around the lift shaft to preserve interior aesthetics.

Wall Clearance

Required space between the elevator structure and adjacent walls for safe installation or maintenance.

Platform Finish

Surface texture or material used on the platform lift (ex: anti-skid, rubber).

Stair Rail

The rail on which the stairlift travels is fixed to the stair structure.

Call Station

The external control at each landing (floor) that allows calling the lift.

Load Sensor

A device that detects weight inside the cabin or on a platform to trigger overload or safe operation.

Power Consumption

The amount of electrical energy used by the elevator during operation.
